Post family update

Well, i don't even know where to begin with this blog................

So here it goes, Griffin is having a very very tough time with the adjustment with the new baby. That being said, i don't want to get into all the details right now, b/c then this post would dbe really really long. but let's just say it is very tough for him and we are seeking the help of our doctors and hopefully they can refer us to a specialist to help. Griffin already sees a speech therapist once a week as most of you know, b/c it is obvious he has a cognative language delay. right now he says about 10 words and speech doesn't come easy for the little guy, BUT his receptive language is great, he understands everything we say to him. so we have been getting help for this. But it turns out, he may have some sort of developmental disorder (PDD), but until we run some tests we won't know for sure. So please keep your fingers crossed that he is just acting out against the pipsqueak.

As for her, she is one month old and doing great! she weighs in at 8.4 pounds- she is like me- loves to eat. She gets cuter and cuter by the day.

Me and jason are doing good. Just tired tired tired. 2 kids is taking its toll on us. On a lighter note, i know i always complain that i have no friends here but we actually have a few. infact, one of our married couple friends here, invited us to go see the Drop Kick Murphy's this weekend, on saturdya night. Well,of course we won't be able to go b/c we don't have a sitter, adn with everything thatis going on with griffin, i wouldn't leave him with a stranger anyway. But it was nice to be asked. SO steph if you are reading this have fun and i am super super jealous!!!!!

Well, once i know more about my precious meatball i will fill you all in.

Until next time..................

For whatever it is worth, Jason did not start talking until he was 2 yrs old. Back then, we thought he had a hearing problem and was tested for that. In the end, it was just late development.

I totally know what you are going through. As you know Gavin has been seeing two thearpist since he was a year old. We are most likely going to have to bring in a speech thearpist as well for him. Good things is the thearpist are miracle workers and each kids learns at their own speed. Griffin will be just fine. If you ever need to talk about stuff like that you can always call me or email me. We have seen I think every specialist in the book!!!

Bug,

First of all - who is DROPKICK MURPHY? I guess I am showing my age. I wish I was going to be in Boston to babysit for you, because I know you and Jason need a night out! Hang on kiddo, I will be there next week! Hugs and kisses to my two little darlings!

Love,
Mom

Ariele, you might enjoy reading this blog, the author's son has speech delays (sounds like similar to Griffin). He is a little older than Griffin, but with the same issues re: limited speech. Just a thought- her son is doing much better after therapy and it might be comforting to read:

Not sure if that link works, the blog is

If you click on archives and scroll down, there is a category called speech delays and you can read her posts on that.

I am sorry it has been a rough couple of weeks. I love you guys! Kisses to the babies! I really think Griff is just acting out...seeing as he is not the one and only anymore :) I WISH you were in Dallas :(
